Yachting Festival Cannes

Since 1977, Cannes has opened its bay to the luxury and elegance of water sports. An unavoidable appointment in September for lovers and professionals of sailing and navigation and many other worlds such as jewelry, the art of the table, high-tech … So, this salon no longer attracts only trendy sea visitors, it has opened its doors to other areas gathered around their passions: luxury and yachting.
In 30 years, Cannes has made this festival the most anticipated event of the fall. This year, more than 100 previews and 200 novelties will be next to the 600 boats on display. If the show has always been known to highlight the engines, the sailboats are widely used in this 2019 edition.

The Vieux Port and the Port Canto

Therefore, two places to visit: the Vieux Port, emblematic place, where are exposed the most prestigious motor units, and Port Canto, now offering a large space to sail while preserving fifty places for large second-hand yachts.
As every year, the Vieux Port is organized in several sectors: the luxury gallery (above the Vieux Port and the bay of Cannes, it is the space dedicated to luxury houses, lifestyle and crafts), the palace Festivals (brings together all the luxury yachting players: from the Tender and Toys space designers to the finance companies), the super yachts extension (units from 25 to 55 meters), the pier (units from 10 to 45 meters), the Pantiero (units from 10 to 34 meters), the Saint-Pierrre pier (units from 10 to 25 meters) and the Max Laubeuf pier (160 units from 10 to 20 meters). On the other side, the Port Canto will share its dock with the Space Toys, where you can discover jetboards, longboards and a Mini-Golf.
For the record, it is on the Quai Max Laubeuf that the whole history of the Cannes Yachting Festival started, with only 30 boats!

About the events

As for events, the classics keep their place. As usual, the Festival organizes La Regata (the Tour Sailing multihull race). In addition, there will be the Energy Observer * and the Sail GP (regatta of the super-powered catamarans). Of course, there will also be the contest of Elegance, 5th edition already! The opportunity to discover a show of vintage and modern day boats and pay tribute to the rich history of yachting in the heart of the French Riviera. An exceptional parade.
* The Energy Observer is a ship from the hull of Peter Blake’s boat with which he won the Jules Verne Trophy in 1993. It has been repackaged into a future electric-powered unit powered by a renewable energy mix. a system for the production of carbon-free hydrogen from seawater. It travels the globe in anticipation of a planned odyssey of 50 countries and 101 stopovers!
